I think, once we have grown and can know the Lord's voice, we can begin to hear it over the rushing desires of our hearts. We learn to be patient, to not run at the first thing we know is good. There are often hidden dangers in MANY things that can be good. I know many times I have been caught up in this idea- it's good for me, so why would God object? Learning the lesson of this video will keep us out of the rushing torrents of life and lead us to peace and safety.

Lord help me to always follow You beside quiet waters.. How much I needed to hear this! There are so many times I have tried to run to the river, thirsting for drink, when God was trying to keep me safe until the storm passed-and inevitably, as I dove for a drink to quench my thirst, got submerged by the raging flood.. crying out.. As a parent, I think of what I would feel if my child ran out the way I have, I would be disappointed, worried, and correction would be necessary..but I would still save them because I love them. I wonder now if God feels that same frustration when I disobey, and run into the storm to quench my thirst; rather than waiting for the storm to pass so He may lead me to still waters in perfect time..
