In my college years, I attended a Friday evening college praise and fellowship function called "Fire by Night." Our motto, also printed on T-Shirts, was "No Mask Allow," even in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I believe we all have worn our share of masks over the years, I can say this because I am..... old...... "grasshopper"....see I am old...too much tv in the 70's. Some of us do where masks for various reasons. I think we shy away from letting our faith shine through during certain moments and situations because we fear how those around us will treat us after displaying the boldness we should have in CHRIST, and if you have, come join a very large crowd of "Sunday morning Bible carrying Christians". It is very comfortable to walk through the doors of your church carrying your Bible, not so easy carrying it through the doors of where you work, and here is where the mask goes on, the thing is, many of us, if you work for a large corporation are given a mask, whether you want to wear it or not. This masks comes in the form of a "code of ethics" we must follow. Where I am employed I cannot share my faith with someone else, even if they agree to hear my comments because there could be someone not involved in the conversation who might over-hear our discussion and could possibly be offended. I am not allowed to ask fellow worker how they are feeling after an illness or how a family member might be doing after surgery for example. So am I hiding behind a mask of Christian on Sunday and an uncaring individual during the week?????? It is sad, but sometimes and in some situations we can remove our masks, we can let the love of CHRIST expose itself wide open to the hurting world around us, and then there our those times and places where the masks we wear are locked on us by the world we must function in. I once heard someone say "there is a time and place for all that JESUS stuff"....unfortunatly our society seems to be buying into this theory.
