Hey Jeff, man you are old, no cell phone, no texting, no Face Book, I don't know how you and your wife even had a chance!!!!!! Just kidding, oops!, I mean lol. When I was dating we still had rotary dial phones and in the rural area I grew up as a teen we had shared, "party lines", as they called them, 3 or 4 families shared the same phone line.......rambling about the past, another sign I am old! I do agree with your point about where our passions lie and the time and thought we invest in them. I recently listened to a message delivered by this pastor I truly respect. In it he talked of our time we spend with GOD reading HIS word, as opposed to our other interest we can't seem to live without. Things like we will make time for Oprah daily, yet claim there are just not enough hours in the day to read a chapter in the Bible. To make time for 2hr episodes of American Idol, yet say we just don't have enough time to attend a once a week Bible study. And how about those sports, man he had everyone sliding a little lower in their seats that sermon, how come there are those that can recall every member of the Chicago Bears, their position and their number, yet can't tell you the names of the twelve disciples? Can tell you all the teams during March Madness, yet can only remember 3 of the 10 Comandments? The message went on, but you get the point, this pastor's point was not to redicule the pastimes we enjoy, but to use that same passion, that same way we are disciplined to pursue other interest, in our pursuit of GOD.
