What came to my mind... the other day I was talking to a friend, sharing with her what I felt was my pathetic behavior as a teen/young adult begging God for a more exciting romantic life. I was trying to point out how imature I was - how shortsighted - and how now I am grateful for all that God spared me from by answering my prayers with "no". But then my friend gave me new insight - she commented about how great it was that as disenchanted and lonely as I felt, I kept returning to God to petition Him and cry on His shoulder. I can't claim anything about returning to Him with a right heart, but in considering her comment I do think it was by God's amazing grace that I felt called and free to lay my relatively childish burden at His feet again and again. Her insight made me see the lifelong habit I've had... not of me but God in me... and I am so much more consciously thankful for the way God has been hemming me in all along the way.

I wish I could say that I set aside time to have a deeper walk with CHRIST, let HIM be the reason I make the decisions I do, but I don't. I read Laurie's comment, and I thank GOD she leans on HIM the way she does. I know you say you are a young adult, well I am an "old adult"(well not super old,49, come to think of it, that is super old to you!!) and as we get older, "life" can knock you off the path of your walk with CHRIST. Laurie, you are on the right path, so please stay there! Now as for me, I sort of fell off the path, rolled down the hill and into the mud hole we refer to as "daily life"!!! JESUS, will never leave us down in the mudhole if we ask for HIS help back to the path, but trust me, the climb back up is a rough one, full of scrapes, scratches, and bruises, so stay on the path with JESUS, the choices in life are much easier to navigate on the clear path with your SAVIOR walking with you, making the path clear!!!
